Improved characters and better than first
By Lauren Schneider
Rylie’s character improves in this book and it was better than the first.
There are a few major events that happen a little too quickly for me, but I can understand that Crane isn’t the kind of author to dwell on something (except maybe the occasional deepening of kisses and feel of a hand on a wing).
There was a math error that drove me crazy. It’s all a year later… a year after Rylie was 16, but every reference is about “16 years ago…” 16+1 does not equal 16.
I finished this book 24 hours ago and have forgotten a surprising amount. I did read it in 3 days, so it should be fresh. Read it quickly with some interest, but quickly forgot… Take that to mean what you will.

I read the sample of the 3rd book and decided I was done. Third book is…. how do I say this without a spoiler… very un-realistic, even in book fantasy faery land. I’m out on this series.

i was a little dissapointed…
By Katie Haas
The first book was totally awesome! I loved the suspense, and descriptions. With the second book though, I thought it could have been better. The story felt rushed, like the author wanted to finish the book fast or something. I thought that Kallan was full of personality in the first book, but in the second all he ever talked about was how much he loved Rylie, which is good I guess, but I don’t think that’s what a real character would do. I didn’t like Adam in the first or second because of the same reason. I feel like the relationship with Rylie was all about kissing and hugging, they hardly had real conversations or anything. I don’t know if that makes sense lol but I think if you love someone you do more than just kiss them and compliment them. you talk to them, and hang out with them, and do activities with them. you get to know them, not just how beautiful they are or how well they can make out with you. I was sad at the end of the book, because I thought it would have more to the story than she just chooses who she likes. more about the adventure than the love story. sorry if I seem like a hater…. I just didn’t like this book which is unusual, because I can learn to like almost any story…

Broken Promise
By Jane Ritz
I absolutely love this book. It tells the story of Rylie who is a faerie. Broken promise tells the captivating story of Rylie and her ordeal of finding which world she belongs in-Earth or the faere world. There is a lot of conflicts in feelings within herself, her boyfriend Adam, and Kallan; the faere she is promised to. It also involves a physical conflict between Kallan’s father and her biological father. This book is great read for any preteen or teen. It’s awesome!
